Research Vice President, High Performance Computing, IDC
Steve Conway, Research Vice President in IDC's High Performance Computing group, is a 25-year veteran of the HPC and IT industries. He also leads IDC's practice in high performance data analysis (big data needing HPC), working closely with public- and private-sector organizations, and has published numerous articles and given conference keynote talks on this topic. He is a member of the steering committee of the HPC User Forum and serves on the editorial boards of several HPC-related publications. Before joining IDC, he was vice president of investor relations and corporate communications for Cray Inc. and CompuServe. He had a 12-year career in university teaching and administration at Boston University and Harvard University. A former Senior Fulbright Fellow, he holds bachelor's and master's degrees in German from Columbia University and a master's in comparative literature from Brandeis University, where he also completed doctoral coursework and exams.
