|Abstract:||Utilising simulation and advanced computing technologies that often require High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures and access to dig data has become crucial for achieving competitiveness in manufacturing. However, purchasing, accessing and harnessing such tools require capital investment and significant skills and expertise. In order to lower entry barriers, especially for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-caps, three European projects (CloudSME, Fortissimo and CloudFlow) are working actively to support manufacturing SMEs when utilising HPC Cloud solutions. The workshop will be jointly organised by these three projects and will focus on technological solutions and business models in support of manufacturing. Case studies will be presented illustrating the advantages and impact that cloud-based HPC technologies bring into the manufacturing sector and beyond.
Engineers and scientists and their managers who are looking for ways to improve their designs (higher quality), increase their competitiveness (shorten time to market), and safe costs by bursting into the cloud when they need more compute power.
