This talk will investigate industrial use cases for clouds in production today or being about to go in production. It will compare requirements and restrictions across different industries. In particular the talk will cover the following topics:

• Provide an overview on typical cloud use cases in the industries MCAE, EDA, LifeSciences, Energy and Financial Services
• Explain what type of cloud is being used (private, public or hybrid clouds) and analyze what are the business drivers in the different industries
• Investigate what special requirements do exist for those industries in areas such as cloud technologies, utilization policies and business models
• For industries leaning towards private or hybrid cloud approaches, how do the private cloud environments being deployed in such scenarios differ from public cloud environments and why?
• For industries generally not using public clouds, what inhibits their usage?
