Having heard what cloud can do for your organisation this session will help you get started with cloud or help advance your strategy. The panelists represent organisations who have developed their organisation's cloud strategy specifically for data and process intensive applications, or have helped other organisations to do this. The panel is your opportunity to put questions to these distinguished industry figures. Based on early feedback
from organisations looking at their cloud strategy we expect to discuss:
- Does one cloud fit all? What architectural and management decisions need to be made for either a high compute or high data volume workload?
- Is there a role for public cloud for these applications - how do you take advantage of public clouds while maximising the value of your on premise investment. How do you go about building public clouds for your industry or research community.
- Implementation tips - what works well (and less well) for petabyte scale processing, what frameworks and languages are appropriate for this environment, what should you do to optimise programmable hardware such as GPUs and co-processors.
- What comes after cloud? What opportunities should your organisation prepare for over the next 10 years?
We expect a lively discussion and hope to help you get started with cloud in your organisation.
