OpenNebula Cloud Case Studies

Prof. Dr. Ignacio M. Llorente, Professor, University of Madrid, Spain

OpenNebula is an open-source toolkit, with excellent performance and scalability to manage tens of thousands of virtual machines, and with the most advanced functionality for building private, public and hybrid clouds. OpenNebula is the result of many years of research and development in efficient and scalable management of virtual machines on large-scale distributed infrastructures. Its innovative features have been developed to address the requirements of business use cases from leading companies in the context of flagship European projects in cloud computing.

Because two datacenters are not the same, OpenNebula offers open, flexible and extensible architecture, interfaces and components that enable its seamless integration with any existing system, service and process for virtualization, storage, networking and security in the data-center. The talk describes some examples of on how OpenNebula is being used to build large-scale cloud infrastructures, so providing the flexibility, robustness, and scalability that many IT shops need for internal cloud adoption.
