Dr. Chris Catherasoo
Manager, HPC Strategy Development, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, USA
Dr. Chris Catherasoo is the manager for High Performance Computing Strategy Development at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where his duties include planning and developing the laboratory’s high performance computing resources to meet the supercomputing, storage, networking and visualization needs of its scientists, technologists and engineers. Prior to that he was the manager of the Supercomputing and Visualization Facility at the laboratory. In addition to supporting the activities of ISC for the past three years, Dr. Catherasoo has also been actively involved with the organizing committees of various high performance computing conferences, including the SGI User Group and the IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing. Dr. Catherasoo holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Aeronautics from the University of Cambridge, and a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree, also in Aeronautics, from the California Institute of Technology.
