| Abstract: |
|
Good scalability alone is insufficient as the sole prerequisite for codes on future exascale machines. A thorough understanding of the interaction between code and the hardware it is running on is essential for developing a consistent view on the use of available resources, since many exascale-critical issues are deeply rooted in the node or processor levels. Real insight starts down there and guides the way to new ideas for optimization and parallelization.
We develop performance engineering techniques that focus on optimum resource usage. Replacing guesswork by insight, those will be useful for all application developers. |
