While PUE has been a beneficial metric to the industry and the environment in general, we are now reaching a point were cooling and power distribution efficiency have less room for improvement, as new datacenters are now coming online with a PUE of less than 1.1. This talk will picture a broader, macro level view of the datacenter, being part of a larger ecosystem where net energy utilization, water consumption and carbon footprint may actually have a bigger impact. |
