| Abstract: |
|
A novel data center architecture was developed, which combines economy with ecology. Various systems are already in operation since more than a year, proving the validity of the technology. For instance the Frankfurt LOEWE-CSC system, which is listed in the Top500 since November 2010 is operating at a PUE of 1,07. At the Helmholtz Center a data center has recently been completed, which has a power density of 40 kW/m² and operates at the same energy efficiency. A new data center is currently being planned, which will host 800 19” racks on a surface area of less than 800m² of land. Each rack can cool up to 35 kW. All these systems have in common very low construction cost. The presentation will detail the architecture, configuration and building cost of these data centers and give an overview of the operating experience. In addition some insights will be presented on how highest algorithm performance is achieved by using GPGPUs. |
