In the early stages of product development, assessment of design variants based on simulation is the main key to meet time, cost and usability goals. The challenge is to set-up reliable simulation models across multiple domains such as durability, NVH, misuse or drop tests but without expensive and time critical prototype testing.
These realistic simulations require the actual geometry and the real material properties of components and parts, i.e. properties which consider manufacturing and assembly history. Furthermore, for industrial development projects also a high degree of workflow automation and efficient solution schemes are needed to deliver reliable results within tight time constraints.
This can be beneficially achieved by using ESI Virtual Performance Solution (VPS) which enables the usage of a unique model across multiple domains and includes scaling solution schemes that can be executed on a single HPC platform for all domains. For all domains, VPS interfaces well with ESI Virtual Manufacturing Solutions to consider manufacturing and assembly effects in performance simulations.
Especially at Small & Medium Enterprises with its small CAE teams and limited compute resources, VPS gives high flexibility in man power and hardware operations at minimum costs of ownership across the full development cycle. |
