| Abstract: |
|
The use of GPU accelerators as part of HPC environments in today’s world of scientific research and product development plays a key role in speeding up the cycle of discovery. At Cambridge University, the High Performance Computing Service provides a Dell GPU cluster that is the backbone of research into jet engine development and optimization at the University in collaboration with leading industrial partners. Their fluid dynamics simulation and Cave installation have been delivering solid results and new innovation. This talk will discuss the practical aspects of leveraging NVIDIA GPU technology and CUDA application development as well as an overview of the Cambridge HPCS with a focus on current and future Cambridge GPU deployments detailing system integration and operational issues together with an overview of Cambridge user led GPU application development. |
