InfiniBand is the leading network technology in HPC clusters. Even in small systems of a few nodes it is being used as high performance interconnect. It scales from just a hand full nodes and one simple switch to a couple of thousand nodes with hundreds of switches. But how do you know whether the network is running smoothly? What happens in case of errors? We want to collect experiences running IB networks, discuss best practices and present some ideas and tools on how to manage IB networks of every scale. |
