Dr. John Dennis

John M. Dennis is a Scientist in the Computer and Information System Laboratory at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). He has worked at NCAR since 1993, and received his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005. He is one of the chief architects of the High-Order Methods Modeling Environment framework, a scalable atmospheric dynamical core. Dr. Dennis' work has been recognized with an honorable mention Gordon Bell prize in 2001 for excellence in high-performance supercomputing. His interests include high-performance parallel computing, parallel I/O, mesh partitioning, computer architecture, and iterative algorithms.
