Still Time to Save on ISC’12 Registration – Register Online by June 16
HAMBURG, Germany, June 5 – The 27th annual International Supercomputing Conference is less than two weeks away, but there’s still time to save by registering now and avoiding the higher on-site registration rates. ISC’s flexible registration system allows attendees to sign up and pay for only those sessions that fit their interests or schedules.
Registration this year is running 15 percent ahead of last year, pointing to an estimated record attendance of 2,400 participants. Clearly, HPC experts from around the world are taking to heart the ISC’12 theme of “Join the Global Supercomputing Community.”
Here is an overview of the different passes available:
Conference Pass: The conference pass gives access to all Invited Sessions, Contributed Sessions, and Industrial Sessions from Monday, June 18, through Thursday, June 21, as well as the Exhibition.
Exhibition Pass: The exhibition pass gives access to all Contributed Sessions, Industrial Sessions and the Exhibition. This year’s exhibition will be the largest ever, with 175 exhibitors participating, including more than 54 organizations attending ISC for the first time.
Tutorial Pass: This pass provides access to all 12 full-day and half-day educational tutorials on Sunday, June 17. Hybrid programming is again a hot topic and will be addressed in a number of tutorial sessions.
HPC in Asia Workshop Pass: This pass gives access to the HPC in Asia Workshop and an evening reception held on Sunday, June 17. This is the second year for this workshop, which aims to share information on the latest status of HPC systems and applications from leading countries in Asia.

While the ISC’12 conference program has sessions created to tap a wide variety of interest areas, several sessions are certain to grab everyone’s attention. During the afternoon of Monday June 18, selected “inquisitors” will grill representatives of leading HPC vendors in two fast-paced “Hot Seat” sessions. These sessions are open to attendees with either Conference or Exhibition passes.
On the final day, Thursday, June 21, the closing session of ISC’12 will feature the return of the “ISC Analyst Crossfire”. In this fast-paced panel session, Addison Snell of Intersect360 Research will lead HPC industry experts – two from the vendor community and two from the end-user community – in discussions of future-looking supercomputing topics. Live audience Q&A will follow the video-recorded 30-minute session.
Now in its 27th year, ISC is the world’s oldest and one of the most important conferences for the HPC community, offering a strong five-day technical program with a wide range of expert speakers and exhibits from leading research centers and vendors. A number of events complement the technical program, including Tutorials, Workshops, Top500 Announcement, Research Paper Sessions, Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions, Research Poster Session, Think Tank Series, Analyst Crossfire, Exhibitor and Start-up Forums, and the popular Hot Seat Sessions in a new format featuring leaders from industry and research centers. The conference has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, with an estimated 2,400 participants from around the world expected to convene in Hamburg, June 17 – 21.
