The Research Paper Sessions provide first class open forums for engineers and scientists in academia, industry and government to present and discuss issues, trends and results which will shape the future of high performance computing.
The ISC'14 Call for Papers is supported by IEEE Germany Section.
Out of all papers submitted, the Research Paper Committee has chosen the following papers for ISC'14. The Research Paper Sessions will be held Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26 and can be attended with a Special Focus Pass or a Conference Pass.

Research Papers 1 – PRACE ISC & Gauss Awards
The following two awards will be given to outstanding papers (the winners of the PRACE ISC Award and the Gauss Award will be announced end of April):
The Gauss Award is sponsored by the German Gauss Center for Supercomputing, which is a cooperation of the German national supercomputing centers at Garching, Jülich and Stuttgart.
From all papers accepted for the ISC’14 Research Paper Sessions, the Gauss Award Committee will choose the most outstanding paper in the field of scalable supercomputing to receive the Gauss Award. The winner of the Gauss Award will receive a cash prize of 3,000 Euro courtesy of the German Gauss Center for Supercomputing.
PRACE ISC Award
PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, will award a prize to the best paper submitted to the ISC Research Paper Sessions in one of the following areas:
- a breakthrough in science achieved through high performance computing;
- an algorithm or implementation that achieves a significant improvement in scalability or performance;
- a novel approach to performance evaluation on a massively parallel architecture.
The PRACE Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) will select the paper to receive the PRACE ISC Award. The winner of this award will receive sponsorship for participation in a training event, or a conference relevant to petascale computing.
