André Stork studied computer science and received his doctoral degree from the Technische Universität Darmstadt in 2000. The topic of his dissertation was "3D interaction and visualization techniques for user centered modelling applications". In 2010 the Technische Universität Darmstadt appointed him an honorary professorship. Since 2002 André Stork has been head of the competence center for Interactive Engineering Technologies (IET). His major research interests are geometric modelling and processing, interactive simulation and real-time visualization. Before taking over the responsibility for the IET group, he was working as a researcher at Fraunhofer IGD and Computer Graphics Center (ZGDV e.V.) in areas such as CAD, CAE, image analysis and classification, 2D/3D interaction, rendering and knowledge representation. André Stork has authored and co-authored more than 170 papers in the field of his various interests. André Stork is a member of the ACM, EUROGRAPHICS, Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI), IEEE Computer Society and Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI).
