|Abstract:||Performance of serial codes often relies on compilers' capabilities for automatic parallelizations. However, the performance is not portable to a new system because a new compiler on the new system does not always perform effective automatic parallelizations and optimizations for the new system. As the compiler messages by the previous compiler are still useful to identify key kernels that should be optimized even for the different system, this paper proposes a method to migrate from serial codes to OpenMP versions by using such compiler messages. The aim of the proposed method is to improve the performance portability across different systems and compilers. Experimental results indicate that the migrated OpenMP code can achieve a comparable or even better performance than the original code with automatic parallelizations.
