|Abstract:||In HPC we use components where the Intellectual Property provider, and the chip integrator are one and the same; while in embedded computing, there is a vivid ecosystem of IP providers and chip integrators. Decoupling the IP from the chip enables customized System-on-Chip devices, leading to higher performance and better energy efficiency for their target applications.
Also, enabling multiple SoC providers enables competition, and competition is good for the customer: faster product evolution, more innovation, better features at lower prices.
The convergence of embedded computing and HPC is already here. In this talk, we will discuss the upcoming opportunities and advantages of using embedded technologies for HPC.
