|Abstract:||During last 10 years, Solid State Drive (SSD) in computing industry have been introduced and widely exploded in usage, becoming very hot topic. Furthermore, SSD have been playing a critical role in enhancing system performance and overall user experience for both client and enterprise computing. However, due to following legacy interface and protocols of HDD, continuous explosion of data traffic and ever-increasing workload from applications also revealed shortcomings, and bring us a wishlist for next flash storage devices. As a response, a new protocol based device such as NVMe PCIe and innovative & intelligent features of storage have been evolved, building up a new wave of flash storage for next generation computing. In this speech, those 2 new technology trend as New Era ‘SSD 2.0’ will be discussed in detail, providing how much of an enhancement and improvement they can bring to overall computing experience and productivity, through a simple & standardized implementation.
