Abstract:   E10 is an EOFS workgroup that started in early 2012 as the Exascale IO Workgroup (EIOW). The goal of this initiative is that application, IO middleware, and storage developers and researchers from all over the world work together towards architecting and ultimately implementing an open source, upper level I/O middleware system suitable for exascale storage.
This BoF is structured as follows. First, an overview of the current status of the initiative is given. Then, each steering committee member will present ongoing R&D conducted under the umbrella of E10. Finally, we will have an open discussion on the future, new ideas, and potential cooperations.

Targeted Audience
The technical presentations target researchers, developers and vendors of I/O systems, but we are especially inviting users with high I/O demands to shape the future of the E10 initiative.
