Abstract:   This session will explore critical and emerging hardware and software directions for future large scale systems. Various exascale initiatives around the world have exposed most of us to challenges that include power efficient computing, decreasing overall reliability due to smaller feature sizes and increasing component counts, and an increasing gap between computing capability and data movement costs. These talks will explore a variety of techniques, from embedded system technologies to data-centric computing to software strategies that innovate while preserving existing investments, that address these challenges.
